Kenix Kwok Ho Ying

Kenix's stardom began when she participated in the 1993 Miss Hong Kong. Before the contest, Kenix was shy and lack confidence. Then she works in an insurance company and got to meet more and different people. Eventually she became more confidence about herself.

Kenix's friends than advised her to try out for Miss Hong Kong, she takes the challenge and participated in the 1993 Miss Hong Kong ageant. During her year, the other contestants were, Mok Ho Yen,Marianne Chan Mui Ying, Mak Ka Kei etc..etc... Though the final result doesn't got Kenix in any of the top 3 seats, but along the way, Kenix was crown the "Best Potential Contestant In Acting" by the judges and "The Most popular contestant among the media".

Although Kenix lost the throne in the contest (and it is still one of her regret till now), however, that's not a bad thing after all. Her great potential had yet to explore and many saw that in her. She was immediately given role in a series "Catwalk Chui Ka Yen". Though this series also casted many of the Miss Hong Kong Contestants, but Kenix's roles was the most pleasing one.

This show also mark the beginning of TVB's Best Couple,Kenix Kwok and Michael To Dai Yu. Michael and Kenix were really fated to be the best on-screen couple because Kenix's first series was already arranged to co-starred with Michael.

In the same year, Kenix was given another role as the 'first leading actress' in the series "Wong Poh Keng Cheng / Remembrance" staring Chilam,(Chilam was then the hottest TVB actor). Many audience began to see Kenix's potential in acting. She did a good job considering that she was just a newcomer then. (though her acting then was still not polished and there are rooms for improvement).

In 1994, Kenix was given a role in "Yat To Hong Cheng" staring also Ada Choi, Fiona Leung and Lau Sak Meng. This is the only series Kenix acted as a rebellious "Fei Nui" (gangster). In the same year, Kenix also acted in "Han Sor Kum Peng / Gentle Reflection". Though Wen Pek Har who acted as 'Poon Kum Lien' in this series was supposed to be the first female lead. But Kenix's role as 'Lee Peng Ee' was much much favourable and well-like by audiences. All these roles allowed Kenix to have a good start in stardom.

Her image were always good and healthy. Reflecting back at the performances of Kenix for the past two years, she was the most promising one compared to the other Miss Hong Kong of her year.

In 1995 Kenix's popularity began to rise tremendously when she was issued the role as Jessie in "Detective Investigation File I". This serie didn't started out to be a big budget production. To many's surprise, the plots and casts were extremely good. Kenix and Michael have begin to create good chemistry for a start. This serie had received high viewership and good comments from the public. That called for the demand of making part 2 later on.

In the same year 1995, Kenix make another series called "Zhen Cheng / Kindred Spirit". This series was intended to cast artiste of the 2nd, 3rd lines and below. Kenix and Sunny Chan being the first line artistes were selected to act in the first few episodes so as to draw some viewerships. Though Kenix role didn't stay long in this serie (she was busy engaged in other series), but people still favour her as 'Lee Doh Foon / Dai Mah' (this we could tell from the response from the crowd during the autographed section of Kindred Spirit's Novel). Following that, Kenix make another series "Man Lei Cheong Cheng".

Kenix first time co-star with Frankie Lum Mun Long (her present boyfriend). Kenix and Frankie paired well in the series. That time, Kenix just broke off with her ex-boyfriend and she was not prepared to fall in love again. At first, Kenix commented that Frankie was a nice guy, but she didn't like the way he dressed himself. She thinks he should dress up a bit more instead of always T-shirt and jeans. Kenix was touch by Frankie filial towards the old and she slowly sees and likes the good quality of Frankie. When they were spotted by the press to be holding hands, they admitted that they were dating. They have grow over the years to be a really compatible and compromising couple and lately, they even revealed to be living together. Kenix thinks that there aren't anything to hide because they are mature people who know what they are doing.

1995 was really a tight scheduled and busy year for Kenix. Since DIF I (now that she is much popular), she acted in series one after another. Beside the three series mentioned on top, Kenix also acted in "O Kei Sat Lok / Criminal Investigation File" with Wong Yat Wah and Sunny Chan. This series further boost Kenix's popularity. For all her hard work for this year, Kenix was rewarded the awards - "The Top 10 Artistes" and "The Best Couple Award 1995" with Michael To.

In 1996, Kenix's career bloom further when TVB casted her and Michael again in DIF II. This is the peak period of Kenix acting career. Her role as Jessie was so favourable. Kenix and Michael injected more life and spice up their roles in part 2. Gathered from the experience and chemistry from part 1, they have so much good chemistry to offer for part 2. The series initially planned to have 20 episodes, It was announced at first that the 20 episodes suppose to end with Michael breaking up with Kenix and choose to be together with Carmen (Amy Kwok's role), but because of the many negative voices objecting to this, TVB make another 20 episodes which brought Michael and Kenix back together again. To most of Michael and Kenix's fans. The last 20 episodes is the best part of the entire show!!! It has all the ingredients we need for the BEST COUPLE! The ending of part 2 leave many heart broken and keep many longing to see part 3.

In the same year, Kenix make another two more series, "O Kei Sat Lok II / Criminal Investigation File II". In CIFII, Kenix's role died at the 2nd episode. (So it wasn't considered a Kenix's series after all) and last but not least for 1996 "Hup Foo Tung Cheng / Food Of Love" with Wong Hei and Wei Chun Kit.

With the high viewership and great comments from the audiences, Kenix was awarded no.4 of the "Next Award Top 10 Artistes" (However, she is the no. 1 among the actresses), and Michael came in no. 1. Beside, both of them won the "Best Couple Award" again this year.

In 1997, Kenix decided to make development into the big screen. She signed a part-time contract with TVB (2 years film 4 series contract). That's why Kenix had only two series for 1997, "When A Woman Loves A Man" and "DIF III". Many waited for DIF III for so long and finally TVB released it. But the plots were quite dissapointing especially how they arranged the development of Yung and Jessie. When all Kenix fans were quite dissapointed that Kenix's exposures were much lesser in 1997 (despite the fact that she is so hot and had so many series in 1996), to many's surprise, Kenix was awarded quite a no. of awards in 1997.

Yu Lok Moon Tien Sing Most Popular Actress - Silver Award, Yu Lok Moon Tien Sing Best Couple Award ith Michael To, Next Award Top 10 Artistes, Next Award - Best Couple", with Michael To, TVB's Anniversary Award - Best Actress (Silver Award) and TVB's Anniversary Award - Best Couple with Michael To

In 1998, Kenix have a very busy year(3 series) with TVB, Crime of Passion was a departure from her past role, she act as a  police officer with Bobby Au Yung as her partner.  In Simply ordinary, Kenix play a country girl who have great heart and beauty, the show setting was in early China.  The last series for the year was Till When do us part, the concept of the series is from a famous Japanese series, Kenix play a lady who start out as a self center and bash young lady who just got marry and divorce shortly after and slowly grow up thru trial and hardship to become wise and kind person, her relationship with Lawrence in my view is also quite good! a must see series!

In 1999, Kenix star in a major TVB production At the "Threshold of an Era",  in this series, Kenix play 2 character(sister) for the first time in her career, on the first half of the series(50 chapter). she play a kind heart and devoted lady who was wrongly kill at the end.  Kenix also did quite a few commerical and produce a song for the first time.

In 2000, Kenix finish the second half of the series, "At the Threshold of an Era II", she play the other sister who is much street wise but again with a good heart, the series overall is not highly rated due to the script, but Kenix performance is quite good as always!  I believe she also star in a China made tv series, although I have no information and have not watch it myself!

In 2001, Kenix have really igive a great performance in TVB "Reaching Out", she again play 2 sister as in "ATE" but this time, the 2 character will be acting at the same time. quite a difficult and interesting challange for Kenix!  Kenix at this moment is shooting a new TVB series title yet unname, it will be a series about lawyer and should be very interesting.
